Young Artist Scholarship
The Treasure Coast Symphony announces the 35th Annual Young Artist Scholarship Award Competition. The purpose of the competition is to give a young musician the opportunity to appear as a featured soloist with the orchestra and support his/her musical education with a $1000 scholarship prize. The Young Artist Scholarship winner will perform his/her concerto selection or solo vocal composition on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 3:00 pm in concert with the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra.
All YouTube videos and applications must be e-mailed no later than 11:59 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Do Not Submit after Deadline Date and Time! Please type, No hand written applications or 300 word essays.
When submitting your YouTube video and application it is VERY IMPORTANT to have in the subject of your e mail, please type: Young Artist Scholarship Award Competition Applicant, Your Name and Instrument.

Finalists will be notified by Wednesday, January 8, 2020 and a live audition time will be scheduled for January 18, 2020. Finalists must provide a piano accompanist for this audition at their own expense. The location of the finalist auditions will be announced.
-Reside in one of the following four counties: Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin or Okeechobee,
-Be under 25 years of age (born after April 19, 1995)
-Prepare a recording of a fast movement from a standard concerto for solo instrument and orchestra (piano or other orchestral instrument.)
-Be able to perform an established solo composition with symphonic orchestral accompaniment. Vocalists should furnish a YouTube video of, and be able to perform comparable compositions.
-Finalists must provide a piano accompanist for this audition at their own expense.
-Finalists must provide a copy of their concerto or solo composition with symphonic orchestral accompaniment to each judge (3).
-Provide their photo and biography for the orchestra’s website and any PR pertaining to the April 19, 2020 concert.
-Rehearse with the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra Monday night, April 13, 2020 and Thursday night, April 16, 2020.
-Perform with the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra at their Sunday, April 19, 2020 concert.
Technical Requirements for video submission:
-Recordings should be submitted via a YouTube video link only and it must be typed on your application.
-Video and Audio should be of high quality, and performers should be clearly visible at all times.
